Riassunto
Per obesità si intende la condizione patologica caratterizzata da un eccessivo accumulo di grasso corporeo. È una malattia molto diffusa ed in forte crescita, spesso associata ad altre patologie, soprattutto cardiovascolari. La difficoltà di essere costanti e motivati nel seguire un regime dietetico, spinge sempre più ad affidarsi agli integratori alimentari. Quindi in molti fanno uso di glucomannano, chitosano, garcinia cambogia, citrus aurantium, etc… Al momento non ci sono studi approfonditi in merito alla vasta gamma di tali estratti presenti sul mercato in particolare per ciò che concerne la sicurezza. Riguardo all’efficacia, molti estratti sono attivi, esplicando però azioni diverse, tanto che molte volte queste sostanze possono agire solo indirettamente sulla riduzione della massa grassa.

Summary
Obesity is defined as the pathological condition characterized by excessive accumulation of body fat. It is a very widespread and ever growing disease, often associated with other pathological conditions, especially cardiovasculars one. It is really difficult to follow a dietary restriction, therefore, there are an increasing requirement of dietary supplements. Consequently, many people consume glucomannan, chitosan, garcinia cambogia, citrus aurantium, etc ... To date there are not yet detailed studies on these substances present on the market and there are no data on their safety for human healt. Many substances may be effective, but their mechanisms of action are complex and usually do not directly affect the fat mass reduction.
