The percentage of asbestos-related mesotheliomas widely varies from one series to another. A lot of data indicate that the low percentages reported in some series depend on investigations not completely exhaustive. In addition, only during the last decade a variety of exposure sources have been identified, previously unknown or strongly underestimated.
