Abstract

Milan's medical historiography owes the credit to the physician Francesco La Cava (1877-1958) for having dealt with Lombard health history in the 1940s. Graduating in Medicine with honors at the University of Naples in 1902, he was able to combine the medical profession with his Christian religious education and with a passion for art and literature.
